Dressing Your Christmas Tree

Dressing Your Christmas Tree

Adding a skirt to your Christmas tree completes the look.

It pulls together the ornaments, the lights, and the other Christmas decor in the room.

It hides that tree stand and provides a beautiful backdrop for gifts.

That being said, your skirt does not have to be the traditional store-bought round cloth ones.

There are lots of other choices out there so why not add a personal touch to your tree.

Here are 9 other choices to help kickstart your creativity.

Basket Collar. A laundry or garden basket with the bottom cut out. I have seen a copy style of these made with dollar store baskets and burlap also.

Faux fur. Maybe check the thrift stores for long coats to repurpose.

Box wrapped as a gift. This is a simple one to do.

Wood Tree Box. For those a little handier with wood projects.

Blankets. Have a neutral color silk sheet, country style throw, wrap them around the base.

Use Batting And A Sheet For A Winter Scene Use a sheet under the tree, then set out miniature houses. Try a fitted sheet instead of a flat sheet, especially if you like a full, draped, and gathered look. The elastic at each corner seems to create a rounder shape that is very pretty.

Table cloth. Have a pretty Christmas-themed round tablecloth. Cut the center out and cut a slit to make a tree skirt.

Burlap For a rustic or country look. A roll of burlap spread out to hide the tree stand.

A Skirt. How bout a real skirt to dress up your tree. Dig through your closet or check out the thrift shops for your tree. Make sure it's a circle skirt, not a pencil style.

Hope you found this helpful.   Happy Decorating!
